  • I don't wear much makeup. Do I need to wear lots on my Wedding Day...I'm worried I won't look like me!
If you're not a big makeup wearer you definitely don't need to wear lots of makeup on your wedding day. I want every bride to look like them on their best day..and your guests to recognise you! If you don't wear much makeup I will keep your makeup look natural. I use lots of products and techniques that don't overload your skin ...you won't feel like you're wearing makeup at all!
  • Will my makeup last? What If I cry?
All the makeup I use is waterproof and designed to last all day...and into the next if it's not removed! The only part of the makeup that would need touching up is the lipstick...all clients will receive a mini lipstick to touch up with.
  • Is the makeup you apply photosafe?
There's lots of makeup products on the market that looks great in the flesh but they flash back on camera when photographed in the evening with a flash...you'll look ghosted out! I make sure all products I use don't contain the ingrediants that cause this ...and you'll look great in any light that you're photographed in!
  • I have sensitive skin. Am I able to have my makeup done?
Yes absolutely! I have very very sensitive skin and all products are trialled on my skin first ...if its fine on my skin I know sensitive skin would be safe. If you have an allergy to a specific ingredient I'm more than happy to cross-check the products I use to check that ingredient isn't listed in the ingredients .
  • What areas do you cover?
I'm based in Leighton Buzzard and cover Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire. This area includes Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Luton, Woburn, Bedford, Dunstable, Hemel Hempstead, Bicester, Watford, St Albans, Northampton, Daventry, Buckingham, Amersham, Oxford, Hatfield, Stevenage, Hitchin
  • How far in advance do I need to book?
For busy summer periods I can get booked sometimes up to 18 months in advance! So if you like my work its best to contact me asap to avoid disappointment. If you've found me nearer to your wedding date its still worth enquiring incase I can still fit you in!
  • Do you have a minimum booking number or do you take Bride only bookings?
For Thursday to Sunday weddings in the busy period of April to October my minimum number for weddings is Bride plus 3 adults for makeup on the wedding day. If you have less people for makeup but are happy to cover the minimum fee I'd be happy to accept a smaller bridal party. For Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday weddings smaller numbers may be fine.
  • Do you do hair?
No I don't do hair ...infact I'm useless with hair! I have hairdressers I work with and recommend on my 'hair' page and my 'suppliers I love' page.
  • I have a large bridal party - can you accommodate them all?
Yes, if timings allow, I can work on all of your bridal party. As I've been a bridal makeup artist for many many years I'm very quick at applying makeup. If we are going to be pushed for time, you have a venue that won't allow early entry or you have a very early wedding I can bring another makeup artist with me. The fee for this is £60.
  • How do I book?
Once you've received a quote from me if you'd like to book me for your wedding day I will need you to pay a £50 booking fee (which is redeemable against your makeup practice fee). Once I've received a booking fee your wedding day will be reserved for you.
  • Are lashes included?
Lashes will be provided for the bride on the wedding day. If other members of the bridal party bring lashes with them on the day I will trim and fit them. I can advise which styles would be suitable.
  • Do I need a makeup practice before my wedding? If yes how long is it and how do i prepare?
A bride definitely needs a makeup practice before the wedding day. A practice is the time to get the makeup look 100% and see how the products sit on your skin and wear for a few hours. A wedding morning isn't the time for a bride to make any decisions ...your nerves may have kicked in and you don't need to have to make any decisions! A practice takes 2 hours at my makeup studio in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. When you come for your makeup practice it would be great if you can wear a top similar to your wedding dress so we can see how the makeup will work with your wedding dress! If you could have some photos on your phone of makeup styles you like that would be helpful!
  • How long will makeup take on the wedding morning?
I allow 1 hour for the bride's makeup and 45 minutes per person for the rest of the bridal party. At the practice I will create a wedding morning makeup schedule so everyone knows what time their makeup will be done...this keeps a flow going and makes sure things run to smoothly and doesn't run late!
  • What brands of makeup do you use?
As I've been a makeup artist for many many years I've accrued a very large makeup kit. My kit contains products from lots of well known brands and pro makeup artist brands. I like to cherry pick the best products from each brand. As a completely independent makeup artist, I don't work for any brands, so I only use products I love ...not products I'm paid to use!
